Children love summer camp and being outside. Children with medical challenges are no exception. The Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Upstate offers several medical speciality camps where kids are surrounded by peers and dedicated professionals in an atmosphere of excitement and adventure. Our summer camps include
Camp Buddy
Camp Buddy is an annual 3-day camp for children 6-12 years old who have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Fostering independence, support, and friendship, this medically supervised camp incorporates lots of fun activities including swimming, rock climbing, arts, and crafts, field trips, and team-building games. Our on-site medical team is present throughout the duration of camp attending to the health of our campers and providing blood sugar checks, diabetes management, and education throughout each day.
Camp Cary’s Kids
Camp Cary’s Kids is a weekend family camp for our supportive care and medically complex patients. The camp is offered to patients, their parents or caregivers, and siblings. The goal of Camp Cary’s Kids is to provide an environment of fun, healing, and respite in a family vacation setting.
Camp Courage
Camp Courage creates an unforgettable recreational and educational experience for children, teens, young adults, and families living with cancer or a blood disorder being treated at the Bi-Lo® Charities Children’s Cancer Center.
Camp Crescent
Camp Crescent supports children, adolescents, and adults with sickle cell anemia and their families in our community.
Camp Heart to Heart
Camp Heart-to-Heart is offered to children ages 6–12 who have congenital heart disease, require medical treatment for heart disease or have undergone heart surgery.
Camp Luv-a-Lung
Camp Luv-a-Lung is an annual camp experience for children ages 6 to 12 with asthma or respiratory conditions.
