A Life of Care, A Future of Hope

The opportunity to care for patients as an Oncology nurse has never been just simply a job — it has always been an honor. I can honestly say, that I have never finished a single day without feeling that this is what I was meant to do. Through every patient encounter and hard conversation, I continue to carry a deep and unwavering sense of purpose.

My conviction for the work of cancer care and prevention runs especially deep. I believe that by walking beside my patients and families during challenging times, championing compassionate care, and advocating for cancer prevention, I can change lives for generations to come.

And then there are those weeks and patients that demand extraordinary determination and attention. These are days when seven feel like seventeen.  These are also the times when solutions meet moments and produce fireworks-style joy and appreciation for everyone.

When I thought about how I could help ensure that life-changing care like this will continue well into the future, I found that documenting an estate gift became a natural extension of the same devotion that has defined my life’s work. My gift reflects a heartfelt thanks to every patient and family that has entrusted my care and I hope that it serves as an inspiration for others to do the same.

After 40 years, this is who I am: a selfless and tireless caregiver and advocate, a nurse whose compassion does not end when the workday is complete. My calling of Oncology nursing continues day in and day out. It is my hope that my legacy through my gift will continue to bring hope, healing, and everlasting care to others for years to come.
