Advancing Maternal and Child Health
In June 2025, Samaritan Biologics made a $1.5 million investment to help improve the health of women and children in South Carolina. Jerry Chang, COO of Samaritan Biologics, shared the inspiration for this gift – a belief that investing in women’s health is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen entire communities. Additionally, Jerry and the team at Samaritan Biologics recognized the passion, dedication, and excellence of
the Prisma Health-Upstate Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The $1.5 million gift will establish the Samaritan Biologics Endowed Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Dr. Kacey Eichelberger will be the inaugural chair. It is the largest single gift to the Prisma Health-Upstate Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology to date.
