History
In 1947 Sarah Hamilton Meece donated the land to start the construction of Easley General Hospital. Ever since that day, individuals have played a major role in the life of Baptist Easley. Giving options
Annual giving is an opportunity for our community to invest financial resources in support of the Foundation’s efforts to enhance the quality of care provided by Baptist Easley. The Foundation’s annual campaign is a coordinated fund-raising drive to solicit past and future supporters of our hospital.
Your memorial gift to the Foundation honors someone special in an extraordinary way. Gifts made in memory of your loved one, or in honor of a special occasion, help Baptist Easley continue to ensure that patients receive the finest of medical care.
Memorial gifts are deposited in the Foundation’s Endowment Fund, which is an account that is never spent. The Endowment Fund is invested, with a portion of the annual earnings going to support future hospital needs. Your memorial gift continues to provide our Foundation with resources to address future hospital needs.
An acknowledgment of your gift will be sent to the individual of your choice, but the amount of your gift will remain confidential.
Employees and Volunteers of Baptist Easley Hospital have an opportunity to support the Foundation by making an outright gift or through a payroll-deducted gift to the Employee and Volunteer Campaign.
Departmental representatives determine annual projects and solicit fellow employees and volunteers during the annual campaign.
There are a myriad of ways for faithful donors to support the ongoing needs of Baptist Easley by making a planned gift. Planned giving is defined as an established plan to distribute your assets upon your death and the death of a loved one or relative that you designate.
Many people believe planned giving is limited to the very rich who have stocks and bonds. Today, however, a person’s possessions includes assets such as equity in a home, personal or group life insurance, deferred employee benefits, the value of a business you own, and real estate investments. The Foundation encourages individuals considering including Baptist Easley in their estate plan to contact your tax advisor, CPA or tax attorney.
The Foundation initiated the Legacy Society in 2011 to recognize individuals who have included the Baptist Easley in their estate plan. Membership in the Legacy Society is granted for life. Documentation of your generosity may include a letter from your attorney and/or financial advisor affirming your commitment. In addition, you may provide the Foundation a copy of the relevant portion of the legal document in which your gift is described.
In recognition of your outstanding support, the BE Foundation will:
- List your name in Foundation publications to the extent you desire,
- Invite you to special Legacy Society events and receptions,
- Provide you special services, such as flu shots and health educational offerings, and
- Permanent recognition on the Legacy Society plaque in the Concourse at Baptist Easley
