Honoring our 2024 Philanthropy Award Recipients

Kelly Willenberg

B.K. Bryan Spirit of Philanthropy Award

Kelly was honored for her transformative work with Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Upstate. After losing her husband and learning of her granddaughter’s congenital heart defect, Kelly established the Dale A. Willenberg Congenital Heart Disease Endowment, which supports the Prisma Health Children’s Hospital Camp Heart-to-Heart, a summer camp for children with heart conditions. This program provides a safe, joyful space for kids to experience childhood adventures, empowering them with courage and community.

Elizabeth H. DuBose, DPT, CBIS-AP

Be the Difference Award

Elizabeth received this award for her visionary leadership as administrator of Prisma Health Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital. Her dedication to patients and their families led to the opening of the Roger C. Peace Adaptive Sports and Wellness Center at Unity Park, a $2 million facility that was 100% philanthropically funded and expanded access to adaptive sports, physical therapy, and wellness services for individuals of all abilities. Elizabeth’s work reignites hope and helps patients reclaim their lives.

TD Bank

Spirit of Community Award

TD Bank is recognized for its impactful support of Prisma Health’s Black Doula Program. With grants totaling $325,000, they helped launch and expand this initiative, which provides doula care to Black mothers, improving birth outcomes and addressing maternal health disparities. Their investment demonstrates a deep commitment to health equity in our community. Paige Carlson-Heim, head of U.S. Social Impact, and Cynthia Forbes, Senior Regional Giving Manager-Mid-South, accepted the award on behalf of TD Bank.

Glassy Ladies Golf Association – Ribbons for a Cure Tournament

Spirit of Community Award

The Glassy Ladies Golf Association was honored for raising over $300,000 since 2009 through their Ribbons for a Cure Golf Tournament to support Prisma Health Cancer Institute’s research, clinical trials, and patient services. Their grassroots efforts, driven by personal connections to cancer, bring hope and world-class care closer to home for countless patients.
